National Mechanisms / Organisations working with Posted Workers - Czech Republic

Formally speaking a national law is a Directive and an organization that solves this problem is the Ministry. However, no processes are actually taking place, not necessary. Due to real zero unemployment in the Czech Republic, small social support, general distrust of state institutions and EU directives the Companies deal with this issue themselves.

However, there are some NGOs involved in this, namely, “Association for Integration and Migration”, “Organization for Aid to Refugees” and “Multicultural Center Prague”. Projects are also being implemented like “Foreign workers in the labor market” within National Operational Program Employment (OPZ) or project “For the shared interests of foreign and local workers” supported by the European Union under the Europe for Citizens program. Thus, in practice, potential applicants will receive information at the state authorities – at the Ministries.

Fundamental changes, such as the principle of equal pay for equal work in the same place, are supported by Czech Trade unions.

Purpose

The purpose of the Watchdog project and the online platform is to establish active mechanisms for control and monitoring of the posted workers’ rights across the EU via cooperation, exchange of knowledge and evidence-based approach of social partners, national labour inspections and European agencies.
